But they are very smart & can be trained to bark when appropriate & stop on command.When I was competing with my dogs, shelties, golden retrievers & border collies were the top winners in the performance rings. That was because they had the energy, drive & intelligence to work on their own, but are also eager to do their job so they look to their human for direction.Their size makes them good apartment dogs IF you are willing to put in the work for the entire lifetime of the dogΒ which can be up to 18 years. Grooming, exercise & training can be time consuming, expensive & span a long period of time. If you can make the commitment, they are great dogs.
Border Collies
